Workshop Hotel

The workshop hotel is the Fairmont Newport Beach. Per your letter of invitation, hotel sleeping nights at the Fairmont (only) will be paid by CCC/CRA, the sponsor of FOSS. A block of rooms has been reserved for participants. The deadline for reserving your room is now Friday, January 1, 2010.  A web site had been set up for you to make reservations on-line. Parking at the Fairmont

Please note that there is no self parking at the Fairmont Hotel; there is only valet parking. FOSS participants will receive a discounted price on overnight valet parking of $18.00 per car, per night. Discounted day event parking is $10 per day, per car. Valet parking for all Hybrid vehicles is complimentary.

Internet Access

Internet access is free in the Fairmont sleeping rooms if you sign up for the complimentary Fairmont President's Club (FPC) at least 24 hours in advance. Consequently, CCC/CRA will not reimburse any costs for Internet access in your FOSS sleeping room. Be sure to sign up at least 24 hours advance and bring your Fairmont President's Club (FPC) member number along with you.

The closest airport is John Wayne/Orange County/Santa Ana/SNA.

Shuttle to the Fairmont from John Wayne Airport

The Fairmont Hotel has complimentary 24-hour round-trip shuttle transportation to/from SNA (John Wayne Airport).

To arrange for the shuttle, go to the baggage claim area, claim your bags and use the house phone at baggage claim to call the hotel. Look for the house phone under the Fairmont Newport Beach sign (there are many house phones in the terminal). Inform the hotel operator you are at the airport and need a ride to the hotel. Tell the operator what terminal and airline you are at. Wait outside under the sign "hotel shuttle" and the van should arrive in approximately 10 minutes. 

Note that the shuttles do not go to the airport unless called, so you must call from baggage claim.
